I am a Star

I met noted Holocaust author Inge Auerbacher when I had my first gallery exhibition of the "Mound" series.  When she placed the yellow star that she wore from ages 7 to 10 in Terezin, over her heart, there was absolute silence...except perhaps for a few isolated tears.  It is easy to see the child in the art is the same face we see when we look at her today.
Since that time I have had the priviledge of meeting with her many times. I have read her five books, the most famous is "I am a Star, which is now a classic of Holocaust literature.  Most importantly I am proud to call her "friend."

I made this piece in her honor.
It is computer generated art.  Size 15" x 34"
